Robin brings over 30 years of experience in bookkeeping, financial operations, and small business support. With a B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Alaska – Anchorage. She returned to her hometown Kansas City in 2002 to raise her family. She established ROI Bookkeeping in 2009. Since then, she’s built a practice rooted in these core tenets: reliable and effective communication, precision, transparency, and genuine care for her clients’ success. Whether managing reconciliations, navigating complex account structures, or designing efficient workflows, clients trust Robin’s attention to detail and persistence to get things done right.
She’s not just the numbers expert—she’s also the person clients go to when they need clarity during financial chaos. Robin has a deep understanding of the unique challenges small businesses face and a gift for translating messy books into clean, actionable insights.
Outside the spreadsheets, she’s a mentor to her growing team, a fierce advocate for client empowerment, and the reason so many businesses say, “we finally understand our financials.”
Outside of ROI, Robin enjoys traveling near and far, hiking, and dancing. She loves spending time with her family, which includes her husband, Curtis, their four adult children, and their dog, Ezzie.

Veronica Hanson is a seasoned financial professional with over 26 years of experience in financial operations. Veronica brings a wealth of expertise in financial management, operational oversight, and client service. She began her career in the banking sector, specializing in credit cards and auto loans, where she held multiple management roles that honed her leadership and operational skills. Her transition into accounting and bookkeeping occurred eight years ago while serving as a Director of Operations—a role that allowed her to merge strategic oversight with hands-on financial management.
Veronica holds an Associate’s Degree in General Business from Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) and also earned a Level B Welding Certificate—demonstrating her diverse skill set and commitment to continuous learning.
Since joining ROI Bookkeeping in 2021, Veronica has been recognized for her responsiveness, precision, and efficiency. Clients value her direct communication style and swift turnaround times, which consistently contribute to streamlined financial processes and dependable outcomes. Outside of her professional life, Veronica enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family.

Jaime brings a strong background from working in a variety of customer-focused roles, including HR, retail management, and business finance. Experienced in bookkeeping and retail operations, Jaime focuses on helping small businesses stay organized, compliant, and financially confident. She joined ROI Bookkeeping’s accounting team in 2024 and quickly carved a niche for herself – gaining a reputation for her approachable and detail-oriented style, like a spreadsheet you wouldn’t mind chatting with.
Her experience spans multiple industries and platforms, and she’s known for helping clients feel less overwhelmed and more in control. She specializes in building efficient systems, managing reconciliations, and decoding complex financial data.
Amongst her team, Jaime is known for injecting humor into the number-chaos of day-to-day operations and ensuring ROI is on track for future growth.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading speculative fiction and managing the controlled chaos of a busy household that includes pets, caffeine, and the occasional spreadsheet uprising.

Lyss Bezner

Lyss studied Graphic Design at the University of Kansas but jumped into the professional world early, working as a reporter in Kansas City covering startups and small businesses across the metro area. After several years in journalism, they pivoted into nonprofit administration, where they quickly developed a reputation for building efficient systems and mastering every project management tool within reach.
Their work as an Office Manager opened the door to financial operations, offering new insight into business strategy and the power of well-run back-end systems. Lyss joined ROI Bookkeeping in 2024 to help drive the firm’s big-picture goals and assist with high-level administrative needs.
With a focus on workflow automation, special project leadership, and team support, Lyss keeps ROI’s wheels turning and its aspirations well tracked.
Outside of work, Lyss shares a home with two cats and one human partner. They enjoy fantasy novels, learning a new skill each year, and the art of bookbinding.

Curtis Owings

Curtis Owings

LAN Janitor
Curtis brings 27 years of IT experience, working primarily on networks, cloud infrastructure, security and software development. With training in programming languages like Python and Go combined with technology experience in both physical and cloud networks – Curtis joined ROI’s team shortly after meeting Robin in 2017. He supports ROI’s IT needs, consults on security and maintaining data integrity, as well as providing general technical support.
Curtis also assists with setting up integrations and troubleshooting technical issues to keep systems running smoothly. His steady presence makes him the go-to when technology needs a reliable hand, whether it’s configuring new software or unraveling the mystery of a stubborn sync issue.
His passion is for diving into complex problems to find and deliver simple solutions. In his free time, Curtis enjoys playing video games, and exploring new tech in the VR/AR space.
