About Us

Founded by Robin O’Connor in 2009, ROI Bookkeeping Inc. is an accounting firm for small to mid-sized businesses specializing in filling the gap between clerks and CPAs. ROI coordinates with the business owner’s tax accountant to effectively and efficiently meet the client’s financial needs, maximize tax savings and minimize fees.

ROI is guided by Robin’s 30 years of accounting experience and shaped by her knowledge of the unique needs of tax agencies in financial statement preparation. After moving back to her hometown of Kansas City, Robin began hunting for opportunities to better balance her family and career aspirations, and she found this balance in independent accounting and consulting work. Since then, her client list has steadily grown by word-of-mouth and referral.

By 2021, demand outpaced her solo capacity and ROI has since expanded to a five-person team, with each person adding unique expertise and intentionality to the firm. The team includes Veronica Hanson, Jaime Taylor-King, and Lyss Bezner. Powered by each team member’s expertise, ROI services businesses from local veterinarians, to mom-and-pop retail stores, and even national IT consultants.

Our core values – consistent and transparent communication, accuracy, confidentiality and trust – have not changed. Our clients know and depend on these values, and each client’s trust in us increases our responsibility to keep it. And ROI is ready for the next step. In our commitment to building and maintaining client relationships, ROI is looking to expand our clients’ awareness of their financial health and empower them to truly understand the operations of their business.
